In Ayurveda, treatment of any disease on the basis of prakriti. Prakriti has been determined on the basis of qualities and symptoms in Ayurveda.
According to ayur science humans body made by five elements air, space, water, fire and earth when these five elements in balanced form then humans body is fine and if it is in unbalanced form then it by creates heath issues what we call disease.
These five elements are divided into tridosha vata,Pit,Kapha. All these doshas are always present in the body. It is not only called dosha even also called dhatus and malas.
When they distort or contaminate the body, they are called doshas, when they keep human health, then they are called dhatus and when they pollute the body, they are called malas.
In astanghridaym, outbreak of the vata,pita,kapha doshas has been told according to stage of human.
There are three stages-
1. Old Age.
2. Young Age.
3. Childhood Age.
Old Age :-Vata outbreak occurs till 2 to 6 in the end of the day, 2 to 6 at last part of the night, till the end of the digestion of food.
Young Age :- The outbreak of pit occurs till 10 to 2 in the middle part of the day,10 to 2 at the middle of the night, till the middle of the digestion of food.
Childhood Age :- Exacerbation of Kapha, the first part of the day from 6 to 10, the first part of the night from 6 to 10, till the time of digestion of food.
Vata Doshas : –
According to Ayurveda Vata Doshas or vayu dosha is major dosha in three dosha because it manages rest of two dosha. It is combination of mostly two elements air and space.
All the functions related to movement in our body due to this dosha.Vata can increase in winter season. There is a place of Vata from the lower part of the navel.
This cause about 80 disease.Maharishi Charaka has considered Vayu to be a digestive fire enhancer and a motivator and center of enthusiasm for all the senses.
The main place of Vata is in the stomach and intestines. Due to the increase of Vata dosha, the stomach becomes asymmetrical and in the same way, the cell remains cruel due to the imbalance of Vata Doshas.
In Ayurveda, the circumference of these organs is defined in the form of parentheses, stomach, pancreas, bladder, blood vessels, heart, kidneys and lungs.
TYPES OF Vata Doshas : –
Vata Doshas is divided into five parts on the basis of their place of residence and various functions in the body.
1. Prana
2. Udana
3. Vyana
4. Samana
5. Apana
1. Prana Vata :- Prana Vayu controls the functioning of the brain, lungs and heart. Its flow from the cranium to the rest of the body which controls all the vital systems for a person to survive.
2. Udana Vata :- Udana Vata mainly deals with the respiratory system. It controls breathing.
3. Vyana Vata :- Vyana Vata occurs from the heart to every other part of the body and back. It is the head of all involuntary actions inside the body.
4. Samana Vata :- Samana Vata decides What to keep, what to remove or what to make in the body. It governs(controls) the stomach, intestines and liver. The fluids released from the body such as sweat, semen and urine are controlled by this vata.
5. Apana Vata :- Apana Vata occurs in the lower part of the body and helps in the removal of faecal matter from the body. It also plays an important role in emissions (excretion) from the groin area.
PROPERTIES OF Vata Doshas : –
It is rough, short, cold, hard, subtle and always moving. Here cold guna is described which means that the vata dosha located in the body or the air flowing every time, appears cold in winter and hot in summer. That is, as it comes in contact with the weather, so is its touch.
Diseases Caused By Vata Doshas : –
In charak sanhita, there are mentioned 80 diseases caused by Vata dosha.
I mentioned some disease out of these disease :-
- Displacement of a part of the body from its place
- Pain like binding, Bursting pain
- Numbness of limbs.
- Depression, To vomit, Prick like pain
- Broken limbs and broken pain
- Thrush and feeling of thirst
- Shivering, roughness, Hollowness, Deafness.
